IMEASY (Integrated Modular
and Expandable Audio Spatialisation®
sYstem) is the definitive sound processing and spatialization
system based on a highly interconnected network of digital signal
processors, intended for applications in the fields of entertainment
and professional audio.
IMEASY is completely re-configurable and allows the advanced
control of a multi-channel sound system to create and handle
spatialization effects applied to audio signals.
We define Spatialisation® as the combined spatial-temporal
sound sensations that our system brings about. Spatial sound
research involves building computational models of sound projection
spaces and using these to process sound in real time for a specific
speaker configuration in a specific space. Currently there is
great interest in multi-channel audio systems, but it is mainly
focused on coding/decoding techniques and reproduction sound
systems.
IMEASY intends to fill a gap in the current commercial market,
as it provides a device for creating in real-time original spatialization
effects that can then be encoded as needed and reproduced on
either custom or already installed sound systems.
IMEASY is also an interactive system to allow spatial effects
in real-time; this is mandatory for live events, theater applications,
interactive museum shows, theme and entertainment parks, as
the exact timing and temporal evolution of spatial effects may
be dependent on external events and for this reason unpredictable
in advance. These spatial effects cannot be pre-encoded or prerecorded
and are required to be created in real-time using IMEASY.
